“Hello, World!”
I haven’t done this whole writing thing in a while except for emails and text messages, so I’m not sure how good I’ll be at it… Please bear with me as I get the hang of it.
The purpose of this blog isn’t going to be about sharing my adventures around the globe or a cool recipe I tried out, but instead to document some of my technology projects that I will be working on in the future. I wish I would have had the forethought to start this once I got out of school, but hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.
The past couple years, I have been getting more and more into self-hosting and the /r/homelab community, so I thought it would be cool to document my projects as I go along to see how much progress I’ve made. Some neat projects that I’ve completed recently (and that you’ve missed out on) are as follows:
- purchasing, configuring, and mounting my own HP DL380p Gen 8 server
- setting up Hyper-V and Docker on that server to run all of my home applications
- learning and getting proficient with Docker
- wiring my recently-purchased home with CAT6 cable
- ripping out my car dash and installing an Android Auto compatible head unit
In the future, I have some cooler projects coming up. I’m currently waiting to receive a Synoalogy DS920+ alongside four 6TB hard drives, a Quadro GPU for my server, and a new 1 Gig switch for my home. I’m hoping to document that upcoming project in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out.

(P.S. You’ll also get to see one(1) cute dog picture at the top of each of my blog posts, so look out for that as well!)
